The lighthouse of the breakwater is a maritime lighthouse of the Ligurian Sea which is located in Viareggio on the breakwater at the mouth of the dock of the port infrastructure. Electrically powered and rotating beacon, the beacon is fitted with a 1000 W main halogen lamp which emits a white flash every 5 seconds with a range of 24 nautical miles. The infrastructure is also equipped with a 100 W reserve LABI lamp with a range of 18 nautical miles which comes into operation in the event of a failure or malfunction of the main lamp.
The infrastructure was built in the twentieth century following the enlargement of the port, to allow for better and more functional night lighting, given that the expansion of the port infrastructure had left the original Viareggio lighthouse in a more internal position and not best suited to their functions.
The complex consists of a circular section tower in white masonry 30 meters high, with an internal gallery, which culminates with a summit terrace on which the lantern of the metal lantern rests, also white with a circular section. Seven quadrangular windows open along the sector of the tower facing the sea, one on each floor of the structure.
